Dear friends,
At our service today we announced some exciting news: Andy Cowan has been offered a job as New Testament and NT Greek Tutor at Oakhill Theological College, starting August 2025. Oakhill is an evangelical theological college in North London, training men and women for Christian ministry. It’s a fabulous achievement for Andy to have been appointed in what will have been a very competitive process.
It’s been a bit of a whirlwind. Andy only found out about the job mid-February. He asked me whether I would support his application, aware that it was at the earlier end of the timeframe in which a curate would usually move on, and earlier than either of us were expecting or planning for. Andy and I both felt it looked like an ideal fit, and I warmly supported him. After an interview on Wednesday 5th March, Andy was offered the job on Thursday 6th March. It’s taken a few weeks for references/DBS checks, hence only letting you know now.
Andy, Heather, Evie, Jamie and Hal will move to Oakhill at the end of July.
Andy (at both services) and Heather (at the 4pm) asked us to pray for them as they prepare for the changes ahead:
– For Andy as he prepares for his new teaching responsibilities.
– For the kids as they settle into new schools – and guidance as to which.
– For the whole family as they settle into a new church and new rhythms of life.
We’ll especially cherish Andy and Heathers’ ongoing ministry among us over these next few months, and know what a huge blessing they will be to so many as they step into this new calling- so clearly and wonderfully directed by our loving Heavenly Father.
