Room For Growth

An Inspiring Story of Growth

In 2018 Trinity Church was a faithful, but small congregation of about 40 adults with the occasional child. On a regular Sunday in January 2025, the same church had 120 adults and 60 children in church across our two congregations.

But Growth is so much more than numbers. We have seen people coming to know Jesus. People growing in faith, hope and love. Relationships deepening with the local schools and community. The new Henley debt centre fruitfully serving our town. Lives are being changed.

Our church building has struggled to accommodate the growth that God is bringing. Our afternoon congregation has had to move out due to its size. We want to make room for the growth we have already seen, and the growth we expect, in the building God has given us.

We long for this church space to be welcoming, flexible and inspiring.

Our vision is to be ‘one church family, rooted in Jesus and fruitful for him’. With our two congregations meeting in different places, it limits how much we can feel like one church family. These plans bring us together so we can keep growing together. These plans will root us at the heart of the local community we have been called to serve and reach. A home where we are fed, encouraged, and grow together in Christ. A hub from which we go out in witness and service both in Henley and beyond.

Key elements of the proposed plans:

  • Additional break-out spaces for Sunday kids’ groups, and flexible mid-week community use
  • New kitchen
  • New heating, lighting and Audio Visual equipment
  • New fully accessible toilets at the back of church
  • Ramps and lifts providing access for all
  • A new secure outside space
